Troubleshooting

Work through the matching section below before reinstalling everything. When you Submit a Ticket in Discord, include the support checklist with your logs and screenshots.

Modpack will not launch

1. Confirm you are launching the StoneHavenSMP Modrinth instance — not a random Fabric profile.
2. Update the instance to the latest announced pack version.
3. Remove manually added mods/shaders and try again.
4. Allocate reasonable memory (often 4–6 GB to start).
5. Collect latest.log if it still fails.

Incompatible mod errors

Usually caused by:

• Extra mods added by hand
• Mixing pieces from two pack versions
• Optional mods that do not match the server

Fix by returning to the shared instance contents.

Incorrect Fabric Loader or Fabric API version

Use the versions bundled by the shared StoneHavenSMP instance. Do not manually “upgrade” Loader/API unless Discord staff say to.

Missing mods or extra manual mods

• Missing mods → reinstall/update the shared instance.
• Extra mods → remove them, especially radar/X-ray/unfair utilities.

Java compatibility

Server hosting uses Java 25. For your client, follow the Java version Modrinth selects for the instance. If you override Java manually, mismatches can break launch.

Allocating memory

• Too little RAM → stuttering or crashes while loading.
• Too much RAM → system instability and GC hitching.

Change allocation in the Modrinth instance settings, not by guessing JVM flags from old guides.

Distant Horizons “Unrecognized version” errors

Distant Horizons is not part of the documented shared pack list. If you manually installed it and see version errors:

1. Remove Distant Horizons.
2. Launch the unmodified shared instance.
3. Only re-add LOD mods if they stay compatible with the current pack — they remain your responsibility if they break launching.

Iris and shader conflicts

1. Disable the active shader.
2. Confirm Iris is the pack-supported optional version.
3. Update graphics drivers.
4. Retry without other experimental rendering mods.

Simple Voice Chat connection problems

• Check microphone permissions in your OS.
• Disable VPN temporarily.
• Confirm the voice chat mod is present on client and matches the server expectation.

Crashes while joining

1. Verify allowlist approval.
2. Confirm game version 26.2 and address play.stonehavensmp.com.
3. Update the pack.
4. Remove extra client mods.
5. Submit latest.log plus any crash report.
