Warnings and Appeals

How StoneHavenSMP staff handle warnings, removals, and appeals.

Staff aim to be fair, clear, and proportionate. Most issues are solved with conversation. Formal warnings exist for cases that need a firm record.

Typical process

  1. Report or observation — a player reports an issue, or staff notice one through logs/tools.
  2. Review — staff check context, logs, and screenshots.
  3. Outcome — guidance, a warning, rollback, temporary restriction, or removal depending on severity.

Warnings

A warning is a formal notice that behavior broke community expectations. It is not the same as a casual reminder in chat.

Theft is an example of behavior that is handled seriously: typically one warning, with a further offense eligible for permanent removal.

Permanent removal

Permanent removal may follow repeated harm to the community or severe first offenses when trust cannot reasonably be restored. Staff decisions consider impact, intent, honesty, and history.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation decision was mistaken or incomplete:

  1. Wait until you can write a calm, factual appeal.
  2. Contact staff through the Discord process announced for appeals.
  3. Include your Minecraft username, approximate date, and your understanding of what happened.
  4. Do not evade allowlist restrictions while an appeal is pending.

Good faith matters

Players who repair damage, return items, and communicate honestly make positive outcomes far more likely. Hide-and-deny patterns make restoration harder for everyone.
