Community Planning

How members help shape StoneHavenSMP through shared planning, feedback, and community projects.

StoneHaven is shaped by the people who play here.

The Planning forum is where we work together on shared spaces, discuss ideas, and organize community projects for StoneHavenSMP. Whether you have a suggestion, want to help with a build, or would like to guide a project, everyone is welcome to contribute.

You donโ€™t need a title to share an idea or volunteer. This page explains who does what, where discussions belong, and how projects move forward.

Responsibilities?

Members

Share ideas, give feedback, and volunteer to help. You donโ€™t need a title to contribute.

Community Coordinator

Keeps planning organized, connects volunteers with projects, supports Project Leads, and communicates with staff.

This is a non-staff coordination position. It does not grant moderation powers or authority to approve major changes.

Project Leads

Volunteer to guide a specific project through completion. They gather feedback, maintain the agreed plan, coordinate helpers, and share progress updates.

The lead role lasts for the project and does not grant permanent control over a district. Leads can coordinate routine work within the agreed plan. Substantial changes return for discussion and any needed staff approval.

Not every discussion needs a Project Lead. Assign one when there is work to coordinate.

Staff

Handle rules, disputes, and approvals for major changes to shared spaces. Any member can bring a concern directly to staff.

Meet the current team on the Staff Team page.

Planning Areas

Choose the area tag that best fits your forum post. If a project spans multiple areas, you can add the relevant tags.

AreaWhat belongs here
๐Ÿ›’ Shopping DistrictShop plots, district layout, pathways, shared decorations, expansion, and community shopping guidelines.
๐ŸŽฎ Gaming DistrictMinigames, competitions, game plots, shared facilities, and guidelines for building and operating games.
๐Ÿ”ฅ NetherNether roof layout, portal placement, travel routes, hubs, signage, and shared Nether infrastructure.
๐ŸŒŒ EndEnd hubs, gateways, travel routes, shared builds, and guidelines for community use of the End.
๐Ÿ—๏ธ Community BuildsShared projects such as towns, public farms, gathering spaces, monuments, and other builds outside the dedicated districts.
๐Ÿ›ค๏ธ TransportationOverworld roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, and connections between bases and community locations.

For Nether travel projects, use the Nether tag. Add Transportation when the project connects transportation across dimensions.

Where to Discuss

Have an idea or suggestion? Start in the relevant area discussion in the Discord Planning forum. Everyone is welcome to share feedback, suggest improvements, and volunteer to help.

Established discussion posts:

  • ๐Ÿ›’ Shopping District โ€” Planning & Improvements Discuss district layout, shop plots, paths, decorations, and proposed guidelines.

  • ๐ŸŽฎ Gaming District โ€” Planning & Improvements Share game ideas and discuss locations, shared facilities, and improvements.

  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Nether โ€” Planning & Improvements Help plan the Nether roof, portal placement, travel routes, hubs, and signage.

  • ๐ŸŒŒ End โ€” Planning & Improvements Discuss End access, gateways, shared infrastructure, and proposed guidelines.

  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Community Projects & Ideas Suggest community builds and projects that donโ€™t fit another area.

When an idea develops into a larger project, staff or the Community Coordinator will create a dedicated project post for its plan, volunteers, and progress. Area discussions remain open for ongoing ideas and improvements.

How a project moves forward

  1. ๐Ÿ’ก Proposed

    Someone shares an idea.
  2. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Planning

Members discuss the details, scope, and help needed.

  3. ๐Ÿ”จ In Progress

The plan is agreed, any necessary approval is recorded, and work begins.

  4. โœ… Completed

The finished work and any ongoing upkeep are documented.

Projects can also be marked On Hold or Closed, with a brief explanation.

Discussing or proposing an idea does not automatically approve major changes to shared spaces.

How to get involved

  • Share an idea in the relevant area discussion.
  • Give constructive feedback on existing proposals.
  • Volunteer to help with a project.
  • Offer to be a Project Lead when there is work to coordinate.
