Rules and Policies

Gameplay Policies

Building proximity, farm performance, Market District expectations, client mods, and inactivity communication on StoneHavenSMP.

These policies support the community rules with practical gameplay guidance.

Building proximity

  • Do not build unreasonably close to another player’s base without permission.
  • Leave room for paths, views, and future expansion.
  • Ask before terraforming shared horizons, mountain faces, or shorelines near someone else’s project.

StoneHavenSMP has no land-claiming system. Distance and consent replace claim overlays.

Farms and redstone performance

  • Design farms with server health in mind.
  • Avoid enormous always-on entity farms next to busy hubs when a quieter location would work.
  • If staff ask you to optimize a farm, treat it as collaboration — not a personal attack.

Market District expectations

  • There is no fixed plot or stall grid — build a shop in open space that is not already taken and is not reserved for a planned staff or community build.
  • Shape your shop with respect for how the Market District is developing, keeping the area organized while still leaving room for creativity.
  • Price fairly and label shops clearly.
  • Do not grief, spam, or obstruct other shops.
  • Keep redstone noise and entity clutter reasonable in the commercial hub.

Details: Market District.

Client-side mod expectations

The shared StoneHavenSMP modpack is the baseline.

  • Do not add radar, X-ray, or unfair advantage mods.
  • You do not have to ask staff before installing client-side mods, especially those that enhance the playing experience without breaking the game.
  • Client-side mods that do not affect server compatibility may still be added at your own discretion.
  • Optional pack components that are already part of the shared instance (for example voice chat or shaders) should still match the versions expected by the current pack.
  • If an extra client mod causes join failures or crashes, remove it before Submitting a Ticket(opens in a new tab).

Waystones

Wild Waystone generation and Waystone crafting are disabled. Each player receives one Waystone for a primary base. Additional Waystones require a Permit from the Waystone Permit Shop. Read Waystone Network before placing or moving one.

Inactivity communication

You do not need to play every day. If you run public shops or shared farms and will be gone for an extended period, a short Discord note helps others avoid confusion about stock, upkeep, or collaboration plans.

Reporting issues

Use Discord to Submit a Ticket(opens in a new tab) for theft, grief, or unclear ownership. Provide screenshots and coordinates when relevant — never publish private player information on public channels beyond what is needed to resolve the issue.
