Graves
How death chests / graves work on StoneHavenSMP and how to recover your items safely.
When you die on StoneHavenSMP, your items and/or XP can be stored in a grave instead of scattering across the landscape. That makes recovery more reliable — especially far from home.
Collecting your grave
Retrieve your items and/or XP dropped on death from your grave by right-clicking or left-clicking it.
List your grave locations with:
/trigger gravesList your grave locations.

What to do after a death
- Note your death location on the map, or run
/trigger gravesif you need coordinates. - Return carefully — the hazard that killed you may still be there.
- Right-click or left-click your grave to retrieve items and XP.
- Re-equip and secure valuables before re-engaging the same fight.
Who can collect a grave
Players are restricted from looting other players’ graves. You can recover your own items; you cannot take items from someone else’s grave.
Staff can retrieve a grave as long as that grave still exists. If you cannot reach it yourself, Submit a Ticket(opens in a new tab) in Discord with coordinates, the approximate time of death, and screenshots when you have them.
If you find another player’s grave in a dangerous area and know the owner, consider letting them know in Discord rather than interacting with it.
If your grave is missing
- Run
/trigger gravesto list remaining grave locations. - Check whether you already collected it on a second life.
- Search the immediate death area and any cave shafts below.
- Deaths in lava or the void may destroy a grave before anyone can recover it.
- If the grave still exists but you cannot recover it, staff can retrieve it. Submit a Ticket(opens in a new tab) in Discord with your logs and screenshots, plus approximate time and coordinates.
